Entrepreneurs, this blog is for you!
We get it. Being an entrepreneur keeps you busy, you don’t just have a business to run but you also have a household to maintain and hopefully enough time to upkeep a social life here and there too. Being an entrepreneur is not a standard 9 to 5 job, so we know it’s hard to stay on top of all the ins and outs of your business.
No matter the case, being busy is not a good excuse to let things slip through the cracks, especially if it is detrimental to your business growth and success. Ensure your business continues to flourish with our year-end checklist for entrepreneurs! At Future Access we believe that entrepreneurs are our future so, we always try our best to go out of our way to support local businesses when we can.
Year-End Checklist for Entrepreneurs
Look Over Your Bookkeeping
It might not be fun but it is necessary. How much did you spend? How much business did you get? Does it make sense financially? All of these questions can only be answered by taking a deep dive in to your finances and bookkeeping records.
Back Up All Your Files
You don’t have to wait until the end of the year to do this! To ensure your files are in a safe place, we highly suggest backing them up throughout the year in multiple places! External hard drives, online backups and cloud storage are all great options to consider. After backing up all your files, be sure to also archive your old files and documents. Start the new year off with a clean slate!
Organize Your Receipts
Make sure to file all your business receipts in well-organized folders with proper titles and categories! If you have business receipts saved in your phone’s camera roll, print them out. If you have crumpled up receipts just laying around, straighten them out and store them in their assigned folder. This is a great habit to pick up and will help you in the long run.
Find Out What’s Working and What’s Not
Take a closer look at your website activity and social media engagement. What service or product did really well this past year? What social posts received the most engagement throughout the year? Set some time aside to look over and understand your website analytics and social media insights. This information is valid for you as a business owner, this information will help you prep for the new year and really understand how to market and meet the needs of your followers.
Look Back at All of Your Accomplishments
Now this is the fun part… don’t forget to celebrate you, your team, and everything accomplished and learned this past year. It’s okay to feel good and highlight those things, you deserve to! Mind you, these accomplishments don’t need to be extravagant by any means, big or small, a win is a win! Looking back at these successes can keep you encouraged and inspired for the new year. This is the positive energy you want to bring in to the new year!
We know this checklist may seem intimidating but both you and I know that this step is essential when it comes to running your own business! We didn’t write this blog to scare you or to discourage you, we simply want to help you in any way we can, even if it might not be website, app development, or digital marketing related. Like we said earlier, we believe that entrepreneurs like you are our future. Cheers to you, your accomplishments, and to all the business ventures to come!
